The Indigo Child (view 9 replies - add reply)
I detect another scientology/Dianetics cult in the works. These idiots have mistaken the Flynn Effect combined with 20 years of accelerated socio-technological advancement for the catalyzation of the messiah/neo-sapien. Ever read Interview with a Vampire? Indigo children are nothing more than frustrated Gen-X/Y uberkids.

Still, the harm has already begun. Let me direct your attention to an excerpt from What’s an Indigo by Wendy H. Chapman:

“Indigo Children are the current generation being born today and most of those who are 8 years old or younger. They are different. They have very unique characteristics that set them apart from previous generations of children. The name itself indicates the Life Color they carry in their auras and is indicative of the Third Eye Chakra, which represents intuition and psychic ability. These are the children who are often rebellious to authority, nonconformist, extremely emotionally and sometimes physically sensitive or fragile, highly talented or academically gifted and often metaphysically gifted as well, usually intuitive, very often labeled ADD, either very empathic and compassionate OR very cold and callous, and are wise beyond their years. Does this sound like yourself or your child?”

Metaphysically gifted? Life color? I’m no expert but I can make a fair guess that this fails to provide a solid foundation for any legitimate self-help system. Why would one need to believe that they posses a heightened awareness? –grins— Are they God’s chosen?

Lets look at Mrs. Chapman’s criteria for the Indigo:

· Have strong self esteem, connection to source
· Know they belong here until they are told otherwise
· Have an obvious sense of self
· Have difficulty with discipline and authority
· Refuse to follow orders or directions
· Find it torture to waiting in lines, lack patience
· Get frustrated by ritual-oriented systems that require little creativity
· Often see better ways of doing thing at home and at school
· Are mostly nonconformists
· Do not respond to guilt trips, want good reasons
· Get bored rather easily with assigned tasks
· Are rather creative
· Are easily distractible, can do many things at once
· Display strong intuition
· Have strong empathy for others or NO empathy
· Develop abstract thinking very young
· Are gifted and/or talented, highly intelligent
· Are often identified or suspected of having ADD or ADHD, but can focus when they want to
· Are talented daydreamers and visionaries
· Have very old, deep, wise looking eyes
· Have spiritual intelligence and/or psychic skills
· Often express anger outwardly rather than inwardly and may have trouble with rage
· Need our support to discover themselves
· Are here to change the world - to help us live in greater harmony and peace with one another and to raise the vibration of the planet

As you can see, everything is kosher until we reach two bizarre, misplaced and unnecessary characteristic:

Have spiritual intelligence and/or psychic skills

Are here to change the world - to help us live in greater harmony and peace with one another and to raise the vibration of the planet

I credit myself on being a pragmatist but as far as I’m concerned, the jury is still out on extrasensory perception. I have a seemingly endless supply of excerpts from various sites all of which contain farfetched explanations of our neo-kids. You see, the problem is that these are the *fundamentals, the basic mechanics of how the "experts" think these children operate. The world doesn't depend on these children so why should anyone instill this ludicrous belief. At best this is a psycho-evolutionary hiccup.

War on terror? (view 2 replies - add reply)
As with most wars on nouns, I am hesitant to say the war on terror is going well. But it is encouraging to see a larger percentage of the Western world, not just Israel and the US, grow up to the realizations of this war. So, how do you think the war has gone so far? At the very least, since 9-11 there has not been a major attack within America. That's good, right?!

The Rebuild (view 2 replies - add reply)
Currently, there is a meeting going on to decide what to do with the WTC site. I don't know. There should obviously be some memorial. BUT does a small memorial in the midst of the hustle and bustle of NYC do justice to the people who lost their lives and their families that still have to go on? I wouldn't think so if I lost someone I loved there. Too, rebuilding seems to me like "Let's move on. Maybe we can forget this in time". Maybe it's just me, but I honestly think that we have NO IDEA what emotional impact this has had on us (me), especially here in the city. It's coming up on a year and I still think about it everyday. Not really in a sad way each time, but it does cross my mind, even when I see the time of 9:11. It really stinks that it took something like this to make me think hard about my priorities.

And ideas on what should be done with the site?

I'm not sure I have a point in all this, I'm just sayin'...

New Faction Rising (view 0 replies - add reply)
The answers are never easy. Why does religion exist? How is it that it appears everywhere on the globe? What is the point of suffering? Is man's nature good or evil? Is there such thing as good and evil? What is the purpose of life? What is love? What is the difference between art and trash? What is the supreme pyschlogy of man? Why do we dream? What is the matrix? What is intelligence? Can it be gauged? What is Reality? And why did the dammed chicken cross the damn road? I am trying to establishe an organization that will attempt to find the answers through social experamentation, group discussion, and study of all forms of "religion", "art", etc. It is ambitious dream, I know, but with your help, maybe we can find the truth (if there is one). Ask, about starting a local chapter.

What's your fetish? (view 3 replies - add reply)
Speaking of reality and selfishness... I came across this image on another website. It is someone's serious and unintentionally funny attempt at mapping out all sexual fetishes. I was surprised to find a few I never heard of. Guess you never know what will give people their jollies. Finally, I wonder if any new fetishes are around the corner or have we cornered all sexual delights already?

I need some help/ advice (view 8 replies - add reply)
Here it goes... I don't know who I am. I can't find that little place to call "self". All my feelings thoughts opinions are always half way to one quarter someone else's. I need to find myself but i need to focus on my academics, and i think this problem is bringing them down...
But then after wacthing the end of Metal Gear Solid 2, I realize that there is no sense of "self". There is only a mask of lies put up on me and the people around me. I don't know my own potential, yet i don't go out for any sports. I can't stop thinking about these things late at night (and other problems and things too, like the string thereom and such but I'll post them later maybe). I need someone to guide me, the one roll model i had died in a car accident right at the intersection by my house. Now I'm all alone, unguided on what to do with my intellegence and where to go with it...

Please reply.. someone's got to be out there to cacth me while I'm falling... hopefully

Need to remember to breathe (view 4 replies - add reply)
Hey,

everyone has their dark moments, but what happens when you cannot remember what the light looks like? My first bf broke up with me this last valentine's day and I don't know how to deal. I wish the answers would just come to me. I now am doubting everything about me. I feel lost and it's hard to sleep at night. I keep thinking that I was the problem, even though we both were going seperate ways in our education and futures.
There is no problem moving on...other guys were asking me out the week after the breakup. This just made me feel worse. I don't know when I will be ready to move on. I just want him back. How do I get my closure? Is closure even needed to move on?

amendment 3, whats the deal with that? (view 1 reply - add reply)
In utah, and a few other states I hear, there was an ammendment to the state constitution, which said that marriage was only legal between a man and a woman. the irony here is that particular point is already in the utah constitution. not least to say that its taking away rights from american citizens. they say history repeats itself and in this situation it is all the more clear. remember when it was against the law( ie. god) to have interracial marriages? that turned out to be ridiculous, and I don't see a difference. i'm not a homosexual, i just support civil rights for all people, without looking at sexual preferance, remember their people!

What about boredom (view 6 replies - add reply)
Ever feel nothing's there in life. Boredom is an odd emotion, time seems to stand still. I feel guilty about wasitng my life away for no good reason. At the same time boredom has a twin called apathy--sorta like I dont care. Ojbects at rest tend to stay there
