You didn't answer my question!And you may be answered: What is GAZM.org? back up topGAZM.org is a source of intellectual stimulation on the Internet. People are invited to share their creative, intellectual and artistic interests in what we call the Digital Campfire. All the content is created by users (accounts are free to create). Jump in and share your passions now! Why should I care? back up topFor the first time ever, people are invited to share their creativity with no holds barred. It doesn’t matter if you are a professional or a hobbyist or just have a passing interest in something. Everyone is invited. Everyone is judged based on the passion they pour into their creations, not their age, profession or anything else. As more people take advantage of what GAZM has created, the network’s value increases. Stay up to date on popular culture, connect with people who don’t share your beliefs, learn, expand and inspire! What are the site's quality guidelines? back up topUnlike previous incarnations of GAZM that were total anarchies, we are trying to steer this new site more towards our goal of being a source for intellectual stimulation. Don't worry, though, there are no thought police. In GAZM's marketplace of ideas users are solely responsible for the quality of content and the determination of what constitutes quality content. If your posting's rating dips below an aggregate vote of 3, it will be removed from the main site. However, all posts go to heaven. We will soon create a section of the site to act as the place removed postings go. Future technological improvements will make this process even more individual, looking not just at the aggregate vote but how each person votes, so you won't see those postings you don't like but others who do, will. Stick with us! What do I get out of it? back up topYou get a chance to share yourself in a way other sites simply don’t invite. For example, upload a photograph you are working on and ask for help. See what people say. See how it gets rated. Collaborate with like-minded people. Or just surf around GAZM and be inspired and provoked by the creativity others have uploaded. What's so special about GAZM? There are plenty of sites where I can upload stuff. back up topGAZM is not just about uploading. GAZM is more general than many other sites. GAZM is not just about file uploading. GAZM is not devoted to a single genre of creativity (music, film, etc.). GAZM is not just for debating pop culture. GAZM is not a source of bizarre news or interesting links of the moment. GAZM is about people’s own work, ideas, humor, ponderings, etc. No boundaries, no limits, no crap. What are ratings all about? back up topA member’s rating (the number that follows their name) is the aggregate of all ratings on their uploaded files and postings. Only logged-in users have the ability to rate files and posts. The rating functionality is not visible to users who aren’t logged in. What are "expanded" search results? back up topIf you'd like to get some quick answers to your search request, leave this unchecked. If you do check it you will be given much more information on your search. For example, when searching for authors, you get a simple list of authors if leaving the box unchecked, whereas you get a table of authors, ratings, posts made and files uploaded if you select "expanded." What is the "Feed" link at the bottom of the page? back up topThis is a page where all the content on GAZM's homepage is made available to people for syndication. This content can be used in many ways (here's the link again). If you have a website you can include GAZM content by using something like this tool. If you don't, you can keep track of new entries to GAZM by plugging the XML address into a news reader.
